Onboarding Next Steps

Congratulations on your new OK2Charge Level 2 EV charger! This page has all the important details you will need for installation and connecting it to WIFI.

Installation:

Your charger(s) must be installed by a certified electrician. Attached is a detailed guide to walk them through the steps.

Installation Manuals:

CONNECTING TO WiFi

To connect to wifi, you will need to be physically at the charger and have a laptop or smartphone with you

  1. Verify Charger and WiFi: Ensure the charger is correctly installed and that a 2.4 GHz WiFi connection is available
  2. Power Cycle Charger: Turn off the charger at the circuit breaker for about 10 seconds, then turn it back on
  3. Connect to Charger's WiFi: When the charger LED starts flashing blue (about 1 minute after powering on), use your smartphone or laptop to scan for and connect to the charger's WiFi signal, named JuiceNet-XXX0
  4. Once you are connected to the charger's WiFi (JuiceNet##XX) go to http://setup.com or http://10.10.10.1 on your web browser. Please note: Unless connected to the charger's Wifi, you will be unable to access these pages.
  5. From the setup.com page, go to the Connect menu, and it will walk you through connecting the charger to your local WiFi network
  6. Final Connection: The charger will reboot. After a few minutes, the charger LED will turn solid white, indicating a successful WiFi connection. After this is complete, you should see the charger status online in the OK2Charge control panel

Here are a few important things to know about the WiFi connection:

  • The charger requires a stable 2.4 GHz connection. If you have a mesh network or “Smart” WiFi and it does not broadcast a separate 2.4 GHz channel, you will need to log into your router to enable one. In rare cases, a separate 2.4 GHz router may be needed.
  • If your WiFi password uses special characters, we recommend you change it.
  • Check the WiFi signal strength. You can use your phone to check the signal at the charger. If the signal is weak, relocate the router closer to the charger or add a WiFi extender. We recommend the AirPort app for iPhones, and for Androids “WiFi Analyzer” by Olgor.com works well. The WiFi signal should be -60 dBm or greater. If you have intermittent or weak connectivity in general, a dedicated cellular router is an option we can provide.
  • If you use StayFi at your property, create a 2.4 GHz network in the wireless networks section of the StayFi portal
