A Journey Through Europe in an Electric Vehicle: Lessons Learned - Final Synopsis

Final Synopsis

In conclusion, my journey through Europe in an electric vehicle highlighted both the strengths and weaknesses of the continent's EV charging network. While Europe is ahead of the US in terms of infrastructure, the fragmented app-based payment system presents a significant challenge. The Miio app, though useful, was costly, and the Tesla Supercharger membership proved to be a more reliable and cost-effective solution. The experience underscored the need for a more unified and user-friendly approach to EV charging in Europe.

Platforms like OK2Charge in the US offer a glimpse into a more seamless future, where multiple payment options and easy access to charging stations make traveling in an EV a more enjoyable experience. As EV adoption continues to grow, simplifying the user experience will be crucial for encouraging more people to make the switch to electric vehicles.

Through these experiences, it’s clear that while the journey had its challenges, the lessons learned will undoubtedly contribute to a better future for EV infrastructure worldwide.
